Dead Man's Chest! Yay next one done!!! YAY ME!

Wed Dec 2, 2009, 7:03 PM
Ok...so this one took me a bit more time. Geesh. I got busy with learning Japanese again and trying to work and paint as well. Seems like I never have time for myself anymore but...painting is worth it!

Anyway, I saw that some folks have been asking about the details in my art work. Yeah, its hard to see all the people in the windows at such a small scale. So I'm picking out a few spots on my paintings to crop out and show close ups. Working on that now so I might be posting a few soon. :)

Been pondering ideas for my next painting. If you want to hand me a few thoughts or ideas, you know where to comment!

Your pieces are so impressive. I am a traditional artist, so it's so crazy for me to see digital pieces such as these. Your attention to detail is amazing, and it's seen in your detail photos. I envy your talent! I cannot wait to see more!

Awh thank you! I used to do more traditional painting but I was very fussy with the paint. Digital paint is a bit more forgiving so I really enjoy pulling out my tablet. However, I do still do some tradition concepting before each painting with pencil and paper. Still seems to be the best way to get the art flowing ideas. Details can be really tough because I get done with one and want to add another.

Oh you will! I am trying to think up a new idea even as I am typing you. Actually, I have a few ideas in my sketch books but...I'm comparing them to what pops into my head. ^^

^.^ I find digital art frustrating right now, but maybe one day I'll find myself preferring it

I can't wait to see!

Yeah, it can be frustrating especially when you get a program with tons of tools and giant manuals. If you want to try digital art again, Take a look at ArtRage. Very minimalistic design interface and it almost reminds me of drawing on paper at times because the screen doesn't have a bunch of tool bars. I've used it for a few of my paintings for starting drafts and with the new version coming out I might try to do a whole painting in it.

yeah, I think one problem may be my program XD it is a bit old, and not really meant for digital painting (since the icon is a camera o.o) I'll definitely have to check out that program! Thanks!
